The mind is going crazy pulling files, hooking into articles of information electronically, and the phone lines are currently tied up to give support or non-support to this very cause. Still before you decide to bring everything up, just sit back and relax for a moment and listen to what is said here. Now, what is American Idol, the number one reality show of all time for Fox Networks? Yes that's correct but what else is it? It has a lot of influence for young men and women who want to break big into the music industry? Sure it does, but the real answer that was hoped was American Idol is a money making machine, period. There is not a care in the world coming from the corporate end of the spectrum if a band or artist has creative and stage edge unless you sign over your life to them. American Idol to this examiner is only a machine, if you cannot produce something for them that is going to gain resources or world domination in some way then it's not going to matter. Not to mention the hilarious amounts of money they make on sponsorships and those texting fees they collect from every vote each week. So how is the successful scam hurting things that they probably don't even analyze themselves (which probably wouldn't matter)? Let us dive deeper.
First of all, do you know how the set up is for being on the show? If you are lucky enough to pass local auditions to fly in for the nearest city to try out for the big show, first thing is first, they can't have you on camera and not have you sign a contract. That is completely out of the question and dear Simon won't have you in court to settle money from a lawsuit just because he called you something that wasn't flattering on national television. Most of the people probably just skim through the more than likely complex details about also being on his company so that you cannot perform anywhere without permission even if you are to be eliminated from the first round on the show.
Still that is not the main problem that the Underground Music Examiner has with the show. It comes down to really influence. Young women and men are easily influenced by something like American Idol to where all they need is to be able to sing on key and impress the general viewing audience with the judges. What they lack is the stage presence and stage experience gained from going gig to gig except ones that were doing that but decided to leave other band mates behind to gather fame and fortune. You know how we local enthusiasts feel about that kind of thing. So the major build up as a local artist is not there anymore. It is an industry of nothing but popular vote and so little talent.
If you do not believe this article has helped in anyway of seeing the true hurt a show like American Idol can bring, then it's time to be hated by the comments and messages that is sure to come. Still at least it is a good discussion right?
